Brandon and Mary met at Spruston Road Bible Camp in 1985.
Brandon was 9 and Mary was 11. Mary's family began attending at the Delta
Church of Christ in 1988 and their friendship began to blossom as they began
going to youth group together and when Brandon was 15 and Mary was 17 they began
dating. They built a wonderful friendship and set an example to many as
they grew in their relationship. On March 13, 1996 Brandon organized a
trip to Alice Lake while Ashley was home from ACU on spring vacation. On a
hike around the lakes, they visited the tree where Brandon and Mary had carved
their initials several years earlier at a Delta Church Family campout.
Brandon got down on one knee and proposed to Mary in this very romantic setting.
